Mission: The Saga Begins
Location: Various
Timeline: Sometime after the Arrival of the Ganymede to DS9

- Ganymede - Lounge -

Mac was walking around the lounge admiring the decor, that the lounge manager had implimented and hoped that the other crew would join her to get to know each other before their respective mission and departmental duties kept them too busy.

- Ganymede - Operations Office -

Steele was already in his office making sure all was as he saw it to be. He was a little OCD when it came to his office but when not on duty he did not get to proper with things. He had a chance to meet a couple crew members on DS9 and now very soon there was to be a gathering in the lounge. He wanted to be prepared for anything so he was reviewing the ships specifications and attempting to review the crew manifest as well.

After about thirty minutes, Steele decided to head to the lounge to be there when others would be arriving.

- Ganymede - Lounge -

Mac had gotten herself a large mug of hot chocolate made from Andorian dark chocolate, and had peppermint pieces melting in it with a vanilla bean whipped cream on top. She was about to take a sip when the doorway hissed apart, she turned around with a cheeky grin on her face to see whom was arriving. Seeing Donovan Steele her smile brightened from cheeky to delighted, "How's your office and such Donovan?" She hoped that everything was going smoothly for his department, thus far.

"Hello, I figured the captain or first officer would be here already. But you are a very welcome site." Steele replied. "My office is larger than I expected for such a ship, but it will serve its needs just fine. I will likely add a sitting area to allow me to do counseling in my office and not have to sit at my desk. How are you finding the ship?"

Mac smiled, "I am enjoying the space and the separate office from the main part of the bay, all supplies are aboard and accounted for. Still getting to know the rest of the staff but otherwise all golden."

"Great to hear, I know that rest of the crew will have a hard time with me as I am not the best in opening up about myself and I have experienced that with past crews but I try to learn and adapt as best I can." Steele replied.

E'Lor left her office headed for the lounge hoping to catch the captain or XO to speak with them. This was a new posting and new ship.and she had a load of questions eating away at her mind.

Walking into the lounge, she got a large bloodwine and some gagh and sat to eat quickly before anyone had time to notice her. Hoping that maybe she could get back to engineering was not going work she soon found out as more people began to filter into the lounge. "Well, when in Rome....do what the Romans do", she said loud enough to be heard.

"Hello, you must be our chief engineer." Steele stated as he stepped over to meet the Klingon officer. "I am Lieutenant Steele the new chief of operations. It is a pleasure to meet you." And Steele offered out his hand for a hand shake.

Looking up to see a Lieutenant's hand outstretched, E'Lor took the hand and shook it vigorously. "Lt. Steele, pleasure to meet you. Won't you join me?" she said pointing to the chair opposite her.

"I think I will." Steele replied. "I have never worked with a Klingon on a ship before, so I am looking forward to this assignment. I used to be an engineer then moved to operations as I like to work on keeping order in chaos."

"I have worked with humans but I am a hybrid however", she said laughing a little. "I am part Betazoid as well. You was an enginerr? What was your specialty", E'Lor asked.

"I primarily focused on warp field theory and maintenance. Then I took over the chief engineer position and then on my last assignment I also covered operations since our team was limited." Steele replied. "I must say I am looking forward to beginning this new chapter. I hope to maybe try the variety of Klingon dishes with you as my guide in the future."

Smiling, "Well then I willi introduce you to something my mother would make. It is called Rokegblood Pie. I never learned to make it there for I don't quite know what she put in it but I love the stout flavor. Have a taste and tell me what you think," E'Lor said.

"I will give it the ol' academy try." Steele replied. "I understand that this is traditionally made from fresh blood of a hunted beast, but his is from a replicator, correct?" Then he took the bite before E'Lor could answer.

Laughing, "Nope this is the genuine article. Mom's homemade blood pie," E'Lor said taking a bite of hers. "Man that is good eating. This is the blood from a targ. I know the flavor anywhere", she added taking another bite.

"That was different. I can say I tried it. I likely will not be eating it on my own. But if I was with a bunch of Klingons and that was offered I could say I would eat it then." Steele replied. "I have to say that it tastes something like haggis when prepared in the traditional way crossed with hasperat in flavor. Thank you for letting me experience this new taste."

"Your very welcome Lt. Steele. We should do this again sometime. Perhaps dinner one night but on Betazed. My holodeck program where I escape to sometimes," she said warmly.

"Thank you for the offer, I don't get back to Betazed as often as I would like." Steele replied. "I lived there as a child. So in the future, I would like to join you in your program."

Mac stood back as she didn't want to crowd the engineer, plus she didn't want to make a face over their eating Rokegblood Pie, she knew most Klingons and numerous others enjoyed the dish. She couldn't stomach most Klingonese food, couldn't stand the taste, the smell or sight of it. So to avoid an accidental offense she kept back but spoke up, "I am Mac Graham the CMO aboard the Ganymede, nice to know whom to ask if there's a power rerouting request to be made."

"Pleasure Dr. Graham, no need to feel that I am offended. Gagh usually does have a pungent odor to those who are not used to smelling it", E'Lor said laughing.

Mac blinked at E'lor, "I am glad you're not offended," she gave a wry grin and shook her head softly, "I will mingle a bit while you finish eating."

"I can sense that this crew will blend together well." Steele added to the conversation after observing all so far and analyzing it in his weird little way.

"Doctor, would you care to sit with us?" Steele asked of Graham as he stood to offer the neighboring chair to his. He was hoping she would say yes as he had that emotional feeling again upon seeing her in person.

Mac shook her head softly, "Maybe next time, thank you very much for you offer though." She wasn't going to embarrass herself or them by being ill at the table over the Klingonese food that they were dining upon.

Ovik made his way to the Lounge, a tad late after checking in with the station and getting everything settled on the ship. Since things were a bit behind schedule, he didn't mind being as such himself.

"Ah, captain," he said as he approached McMahon. "Ovik here, Lieutenant Junior, your flight control officer."

TAG: McMahon

Mac walked around the room a few moments more before she decided that this get together wasn't getting any further, she caught up with Donovan Steele and spoke lightly, "I will see you around the ship, and thanks for joining in."

Steele stood up, "It was a pleasure to see you again after our time together on the station. We will have to do that again sometime." Steele then sat back down as Mac stepped back.

Mac smiled cheekily up at him, "Definitely we will have to get together again." The time they had gotten to know each other on the station while waiting for the Ganymede to arrive had been among the most fun she'd had in years.

After Mac finished speaking with Donovan Steele she waved at E'lor before she headed to the doorway. She was going to go over the reports and then get physicals set up. After that was done she would see what came up.

E'Lor finished her food and took her leave and headed back to her office. She had to write-up the duty roster for tomorrow.

Steele then also took his leave to head back to his office to finish preparing for the first order of business when the mission was ready to start.
