Mission: The Saga Begins
Location: En Route to Utopia Planitia

Ever since he had entered the Academy, he had not actually worked on Flight Control all that much. They had used his prior experience as an enlisted crew and warrant officer in the areas of science and mission advisor. Legacy Outpost and Leto Colony were both guilty of this. But to Ovik, it was just what he needed to do.

This wasn't to say he didn't fly at all - in fact he flew many shuttle runs and helmed several small cruisers and support craft for the two stations.

But this would be his first time in the Helm chair, in a larger cruiser, with the mandate of exploration and patrol and such as opposed to base operations and diplomatic affairs. It was a welcome change, and one of the reasons he put in for the transfer, but to the surprise of his CO.

And of course he would be working with the fighter CO on the Ganymede, as they would have a small contingent of fighters alongside the shuttles and other craft. The Luna was not a huge ship, but she had a lot to her and she was closer to ships like the Adventure and Endeavor on which he was crewed in his early career.

As the warp sled came out of the streaks of warp into the Sol system and neared Mars, the views of Earth, the Moon, and Spacedock were but small pricks of light in the distance. The red planet and the multiple ship docks of the shipyard were prevalent.

Ovik looked up from his datapad as he watched the approach out one of the portal windows, catching a glimpse of the docked Ganymede before the shuttle curved around to prepare for arrival. A small curl of his lips shown as he anticipated his new assignment.
